The longest winning streak in NORBA/NMBS cross-country history came to a close last weekend as Georgia Gould recorded a DNF at the third round of 2008. For Gould, who took eight straight NMBS wins from 2007-08, the abandonment came after a frightening bout of heat stroke and severe dehydration.

On Tour with Thomas
World track cycling champion Geraint Thomas is currently racing in the Giro d'Italia as part of his preparations for the Olympic Games in August. Thomas, who last year became the first Welshman in 40 years to finish the Tour de France, will compete in the team pursuit in Beijing.

Life In The Break
The weekend is a time of rest and relaxation for most folks; but not for PEZ’s man in the peloton, Adam Hansen of High Road. Saturday saw him out front for more than one hundred miles and on Sunday he was back playing the locomotive for Cav, as the young Manxman went for another stage win.

"I was good and lucky"
One year ago, on May 18th, Marco Pinotti's career reached its high point. In the Giro d'Italia the Italian escaped with Luis Felipe Laverde on the stage to Spoleto and took over the maglia rosa of race leader. For an Italian rider it was a dream moment; he went on to hold the jersey for four days.

Nice guy, tough competitor, no drama
As a Portland native, Doug received some of the loudest cheers during the the Mt Hood Cycling Classic. I could tell when he was on the attack during stage 1, the Mt Tabor Criterium in downtown Portland, as the screams and cowbells could be heard all over the course.

Climbing the Higher Road
