Iñigo Cuesta
"Every team is different"

csc.com, 30 May 2006
Iñigo Cuesta was the newest member of Team CSC’s formidable presence in the mountains at the Giro d’Italia over the past three weeks. Along with longtime pal Carlos Sastre, the veteran Spanish rider helped Ivan Basso get up the steepest roads of this year’s mountainous route, securing him the overall victory.

Finito, Going Home, See Ya Giro
It's all over; Basso has proved the doubters wrong, big Jan has given us all food for thought and there are broken dreams lying all over Italy.

Ryder Hesjedal

Smooth roads ahead
It seems like Ryder Hesjedal has been racing his bike forever. Whether racking up wins as one of North America's most consistent performers on the dirt or bumping shoulders with the European peloton on the road, it's sometimes hard to remember that the guy is only 25 years old.

One Way Ticket To Milano
Just for a change we spoke to Dario in the morning, he didn't seem as relaxed as usual, but maybe the fact that he was climbing the Mortirlo that afternoon had something to do with it! For Dario and everyone not named Basso, the end of the Giro probably can't come soon enough.

"So much for having one united US cycling team"
“This letter is to inform you that you are being dismissed from the Resident Athlete Program in Colorado Springs as of today, Friday, April 28, 2006. The reason for this action is that the program will be taking a new direction in the coming season.”

Jens Voigt

"There will be one chief and eight Indians"
Juanma Garate was the happy beneficiary of Voigt's good sportsmanship on Friday and won in the Giro's hardest stage, a grueling four-climb seven-hour epic over the towering Dolomites.

"A very good Giro for me"

Life In Front Of The Field
It was billed as the 'Queen stage', but it was actually a tad anti-climactic, nonetheless Basso put even more time into every one that matters AND our boy hogged the TV screens of Europe for a good part of the afternoon.

Lyne Bessette

Up Close And Personal
Yesterday, in an emotion-filled press conference, Canada's top female cyclist, Lyne Bessette, announced she was retiring from international road competition, after a 13-year career that led her to two Olympic Games, two Commonwealth gold medals, and an array of Canadian Championship medals - and let

Working for Others
Team CSC’s Ivan Basso is well on his way to overall victory at the Giro d’Italia, but he couldn’t do it without the help and support of his fellow eight teammates.

Scott Davis

"I have a free ticket to ride my own race"
His riding style is pleasantly smooth and easy on the eye, he’s regularly on the attack and he has demonstrated his climbing abilities on the Giro's many leg-breaking climbs: Scott Davis has been having a solid Giro d'Italia.

Michael Barry

Back to Racing Soon
It’s been a tough start to the 2006 racing season for Canada’s Michael Barry. The Discovery Channel rider rode into it in good form, and was looking forward to the spring but a nasty crash at the Tour of Flanders left him injured with his hopes and dreams for this season in tatters.

Pain in the rain
We spoke to Dario as the Liquigas bus picked its way down the mountain from La Thuile after a wet finale which saw little Leonardo Piepoli pull a stage-win-rabbit out of the hat for a no-doubt delighted Saunier Duval management.

Paul Healion
