Floyd Landis
"Today doesn't change anything"

cyclingnews.com, 20 July 2006
It takes a big man to take the maillot jaune, but perhaps an even bigger one to emerge from his hotel room to face the press after having the golden fleece so cruelly taken away from him.

Óscar Pereiro
cyclingnews.com,
20 July 2006

It's not over yet
Oscar Pereiro lost the yellow jersey to Floyd Landis on L'Alpe d'Huez yesterday, but regained it in spectacular style by placing third in today's stage to La Toussuire after Landis cracked. Now the Spaniard has a 1'50 lead on GC, but will it be enough?

Ryan Cox

20 July 2006

"To be a rider in my country is much easier than in Europe"
Better to ride in South Africa or Europe? No doubts according to the well-known South African Barloworld's pro.

Cadel Evans
cyclingnews.com,
20 July 2006

Seizing opportunities
Cadel Evans moved back into overall contention after his great ride to La Toussuire. Tomorrow's final stage in the Alps should suit him and the parcours could allow him to continue his rise up the GC.

Cadel Evans

'Anything can happen... it already has!'
After a terrific ride in Wednesday's 16th stage to La Toussiere, Cadel Evans showered, ate a snack and then invited the media to his team hotel to answer questions about how one of the most astonishing finale's in modern Tour de France unfolded for him and what he expects in the crucial days ahead.

Michael Rasmussen
cyclingnews.com,
19 July 2006

The Bird Flew
Although his form has been a little less consistent this Tour than during the 2005 edition, Michael Rasmussen pressed the rewind button to great effect on Wednesday to dominate the second Alpine stage of this year’s Tour. Rasmussen went clear on the first climb of the day with two other riders, buil

Fränk Schleck
cyclingnews.com,
19 July 2006

In the footsteps of Charly Gaul
Fränk Schleck took his biggest victory today by winning the Tour's 15th stage to L'Alpe d'Huez - the first rider from Luxembourg to do so. After being in the breakaway for most of the day, Schleck was able to drop Damiano Cunego with 2 km to go to solo to victory.

Floyd Landis
cyclingnews.com,
19 July 2006

Conservatism pays off
Floyd Landis regained the maillot jaune with a solid, but by no means swashbuckling ride to finish fourth on L'Alpe d'Huez. Landis stayed with Andreas Klöden for much of the climb, catching some of the early breakaways to end just 1'10 behind winner Fränk Schleck.

Pierrick Fedrigo

17 July 2006

A beautiful victory
Pierrick Fedrigo took Bouygues Telecom's first Tour de France stage win today in Gap. The 2005 French champion outsprinted former Italian champion Salvatore Commesso in a classic two-man duel, with the peloton hot on their heels.

Oscar Pereiro
cyclingnews.com,
16 July 2006

Expect the unexpected
Oscar Pereiro was slightly disappointed to miss out on the stage win today in Montélimar, but received an unexpected reward when Phonak slowed down the peloton so much that he jumped from 46th to 1st in the general classification.

Jens Voigt
cyclingnews.com,
16 July 2006

"Oh no, not me again!"
Jens Voigt has been on the attack almost every day in the past week, but today on the way to Montélimar was the first time it actually worked. Voigt won the 13th stage from Oscar Pereiro after a 200+ km breakaway, and all the suffering in the past couple of weeks has finally paid off.

Patrik Sinkewitz
t-mobile-team.com,

Sinki's still floating
In his first Tour de France riding with T-Mobile, Patrik Sinkewitz (25) is in a promising position placed 12th on the GC. He looks back on the Pyrenees stages and talks about the team's plans for the next days.

Yaroslav Popovych
cyclingnews.com,
15 July 2006

Renewed focus
Ukrainian Yaroslav Popovych revived Discovery Channel's fortunes by winning the 12th stage into blazing hot Carcassonne. Popo got into the winning break of four after 100 km, and attacked them with three kilometres left to win the stage alone.

Andrew Tennant
britishcycling.org.uk,
14 July 2006

"Its been a whirlwind"
In 2004, as a first year Junior, Andrew Tennant, was 6th in the British Junior Pursuit Championship and 5th in the Junior Road Race Championship. A year later he was World Junior Individual Pursuit champion and he continues to develop rapidly, evidenced by his recent 3rd place in a UCI 2.2 ranked st

Floyd Landis
cyclingnews.com,
14 July 2006

The time has come
After placing third in today's 11th stage to Pla-de-Beret, Floyd Landis became the fifth American to don the maillot jaune. And despite needing a new hip, he is still the man many pick to win the Tour de France.
