There will be something missing when the flag drops at the start of the 2010 Het Nieuwsblad, next Saturday - Bert Roesems. A former multiple Belgian time trial champion and one of the last of the true Flandrian hard men, there'll be no 'one season too many' for this man.

When Bert Roesems lines up at the start of the GP Etruschi in Tuscany on February 7th it will be the first race of his 13th pro season. Bert is one of the last of the Flandrian hard men, no quarter asked or given; rain, hail, sleet, snow, wind, cobbles, bergs are all just a part of the game.

Bert Roesems ontpopte zich op 34-jarige leeftijd tot een renner die tot de toplaag van de nationale wielrennerij mag worden gerekend. De mediagenieke uitstraling van Tom Boonen haalt hij nooit, maar puike prestaties des te meer.
