I think so far the ProTour has been really good, you can tell the difference in the level of racing between the ProTour races and the non ProTour races. I think the ProTour will be really good for cycling long term, it makes the sponsors stay in the sport for at least the four year term of their contract. It makes sure that all the riders get paid correctly and on time, the doping controls are stricter too.

Aaron Kemps is a name you may remember from Fabio’s excellent Young Guns reports from Italy; if not, make a note as it is a name you will be hearing more of in the future. He has won a bronze medal in the points race for the Australian Junior track team. Then as part of the Australian Institute for Sport Under 23 programme has won stages in the Baby Giro, Tour of Regione and the sprints jersey at the Tour of Japan with a third place overall.
