Georg Reidarsen, of the Norwegian site Syklingens Verden (Cycling World), recently spoke with Davis Phinney, a true legend in cycling as the first American to win a road stage in the Tour de France. He also holds the all-time Coors race record with 22 individual stage wins from 1979 to 1988. He was an Olympic bronze medallist in 1984, and was the US Pro Champion in 1991.
