Al momento di rilevare la Ale-BTC-Ljubljana, Mauro Gianetti ha lasciato tutto com’era, ma nel ruolo di team manager, che fino a quel momento era stato di Alessia Piccolo, ha messo Rubens Bertogliati. Lo svizzero, che ha smesso di correre nel 2012, faceva già parte dello staff del UAE Team Emirates come allenatore. Eppure, quando gli è stato proposto il nuovo incarico, ha accettato di slancio con la curiosità che ha sempre accompagnato la sua carriera.

It would be difficult to name a more experienced professional than Rubens Bertogliati (Switzerland & Team Type 1) he’s been in the pro peloton since 2000, ridden all of the Grand Tours and pretty much every other race you can think of, from New Zealand to Normandy by way of the United States. Ed Hood recently caught up with Rubens after a solid day in the Ardennes at La Fleche Wallonne.

In the pre-Giro frenzy, it's easy for results to get 'lost;' but one success which will open a lot of doors for Team Type 1 was Alexandr Efimkin's win in the Presidential Tour of Turkey. Instrumental in that result was Swiss time trial champion, Rubens Bertogliati.

VeloNation had a chance to catch up with Swiss time trial champion Rubens Bertogliati following the Amgen Tour of California's stage six yesterday. Going into the race he said the course was one that suited him well, but only finished a disappointing 29th.

American Team Type 1 has received an invite to the prestigious Tour de Suisse. The squad has set the goal of riding the Tour de France in the next couple of seasons, and after being passed over for a Giro d’Italia invite, the Swiss event allows it to show what it can do.

Rubens Bertogliati was second to Matt Lloyd on stage 6 and on stage 11 to L'Aquila he was in the break that did all the damage, but dropped back to aid team captain Scarponi in ultimately fruitless pursuit. The former Tour de France yellow jersey talks about the Giro so far...

Het Nieuwsblad and KBK may have been the races which grabbed all the headlines last weekend, but further south there were some big races taking place - the GP dell'Insubria-Lugano, the GP Lugano and the GP Friuli. Former Tour stage winner and yellow jersey holder Rubens Bertogliati rode all three.

Today was the day that the prognostication had to stop; it was time for the rubber to do the talking on the tar, over three laps and 49.8 kilometres of Swiss countryside. We didn’t manage a chat with Fabian, but team mate Rubens Bertogliati was happy to tell us about this wonderful day’s racing.

Surprenant vainqueur d’étape et maillot jaune du Tour de France 2002, Rubens Bertogliati a ensuite retrouvé l’anonymat du peloton. Depuis fin 2006, le coureur a changé sa manière de faire, et les résultats commencent à suivre. Le Suisse espère le confirmer à l’occasion du Tour de Romandie.

Swiss former Tour de France yellow jersey Rubens Bertogliati was in Siena yesterday riding the Monte Paschi Eroica. He finished a very respectable 23rd after a tough day in the saddle - we spoke to him the morning after his epic.

Con la bici, il 28enne svizzero della Saunier Duval-Prodir ha aperto gli occhi sul mondo. E' stato anche maglia gialla al Tour, nel 2002, ma non è cambiato. Il problema è sempre lo stesso: convivere con gli alti e bassi
