It was only a few years ago when Leigh Howard was walloping the Australian domestic scene and I knew from racing against him that he was going places. In his past three years as a professional he's had a steady progression as a sprinter and started off by beating some of the best. After winning two stages of the Challenge Mallorca last week we thought it was time to get to know Leigh Howard a little bit better. Jono Lovelock got in touch with him yesterday and had a good yarn...

Nach zwei Jahren beim mittlerweile aufgelösten HTC-Highroad-Team ist der Australier Leigh Howard in seine Heimat zurückgekehrt und hat sich dem neuen australischen GreenEdge-Team angeschlossen. Im Interview mit Radsport News erklärt der 22 Jahre alte Sprinter, der auf der Bahn bereits vier Weltmeistertitel errungen hat, was er sich für die kommende Saison vorgenommen hat, warum derzeit so viele australische Profis die Weltspitze aufmischen und was das Erfolgsgeheimnis von HTC-Highroad war.

Leigh Howard of HTC-Highroad reckons that the Aussies are going to win the battle on the track at next year's Olympic Games in London, while hoping for more luck on the road at the Ster ZLM Tour, formerly known as the Ster Elektrotour.
