In late October, Aussie Zak Dempster announced that the 2019 season would be his last as a professional road racer. The Victorian started racing at the Continental level back in 2006 and joined the pro ranks with NetApp-Endura in 2013. He’s ridden with the Israel Cycling Academy for the past three seasons and will remain with that setup in a managerial role next season as the team steps up to the WorldTour.

He’s been near-neighbours with Dan Craven in Girona and now Zak Dempster has another thing in common with the Namibian: he will be part of the same team in 2017.

Zak Dempster is a young Aussie currently living the dream, racing his very first Tour de France in support of his team leader Leo Konig at the NetApp-Endura team. Ed Hood caught up with Zak during some down time at the race to see how Zak’s been getting on at the biggest race in the world as Paris approaches.

Earlier this week ProContinenal team NetApp-Endura revealed its squad for the upcoming Tour de France. In the squad is Australia's Zak Dempster, a rider who is making his first appearance at the world's biggest bike race. CyclingTips' Wade Wallace caught up with the Victorian ahead of tomorrow's Grand Depart in Leeds to learn more about the his long road to Le Tour.

One of the pleasant surprises from the Vuelta so far was the stage win from Leo Konig of the NetApp-Endura team. A wildcard invite to the race the boys from this German/Scottish Pro Continental team have certainly proved their worth in the race already with some strong showings on a number of days and great teamwork. One integral part of the team is Australian Zak Dempster who we managed to catch up with on the Vuelta’s first rest day.

22 year old Zak Dempster is a young Australian cyclist hailing from Bendigo, Victoria who has had an unlucky year, but will be hoping the luck will change when he rides for European Continental Team, Rapha Condor next year.
