I caught up with Jelly Belly rider Bernard Van Ulden prior to the start of the ATOC and talked with him about his expectations and challenges for the event. The 30 year old San Francisco native has consistently improved his TT skills and was especially looking forward to the Solvang TT.

Bernard van Ulden graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in chemistry, lives in San Francisco and has only been racing for three years. Moving from Webcor to the Navigators Insurance Cycling Team in 2006 he rode an impressive debut in the Tour de Langkawi and finished the year with victory in the Bear Mountain Fall Classic Road Race.
