Racing for his fifth different team in the last five seasons, Adam Blythe is well aware 2017 has the potential to be a big season in his still relatively young career: a two-year contract with Aqua Blue Sport and the British champion’s jersey on his back means there can be no hiding, that’s for sure.

The team of the Tour Down Under leader after two stages in 2016, Tinkoff, has a range of bikes at its disposal. The majority of the riders are opting for Specialized’s S-Works Tarmac frames but there are a couple of S-Works ViAS Venge bikes on offer.

Riding in borrowed kit at Revolution a few weeks ago, Adam Blythe had the first win in Orica-GreenEdge colours and his season is not so far away with the Tour of Qatar on February 8 and then shortly after that, the Tour of Oman and Tour of Langkawi. All races with plenty of warmth and sun which I am sure will please the Yorkshire rider.

The Tour of Qatar marks the start of Adam Blythe’s season. Although it’s not a make-or-break year for the Englishman, who is only 23 and has a contract with BMC through to the end of 2014, he admits that he’s putting pressure on himself to perform better than he ever has. He not only wants more wins, he wants to participate in bigger races more often, and be a contender in those events.

"There is nothing worse than getting wet on a bike!"
