Ciclismo International, David Hunter, 1 November 2019

Jasper Stuyven ended the 2018 cycling season in amazing form, probably the best of his life. During the Winter much was written and spoken about his rise to the top and we were all left very excited for 2019. “I was pretty confident and motivated going in to 2019. After having a great 2018, I truly believed I was ready to change that consistency into a big win.”...

Bikes, books, and chocolates

Jasper Stuyven is not your typical classics cobble-basher. While it’s true he has a pure Flemish pedigree — born and raised on the pavé near Leuven — the Trek-Segafredo rider differs from some of his peers.

Stuyven forging his own path despite past comparisons with Classics kings

CyclingTips, Shane Stokes, 3 February 2017

The rush to find the next Tom Boonen is as unfair as Belgium’s post-Merckx search for the new Cannibal: such comparisons are stifling and place unnecessary and unfair pressure on young riders.

Outside of the main favourites, Jasper Stuyven’s (Trek Segafredo) progress at this year’s Classics will be keenly watched, not least by the Belgians. As a winner of the junior Paris-Roubaix, Stuyven has long been talked up by a future Classic contender, even before he turned professional.

Rebel with a cause: talking to Trek-Segafredo's classics star of the future

Jasper Stuyven knows that Rome wasn’t built in a day: he spent half a week on holiday there with his girlfriend this winter. Naturally, most of it was seen from the saddle, though he swapped his racy Trek for a rented bicycle. He rode around the Colosseum, but didn’t enter.

For some time now, people are talking about Jasper Stuyven as one of the future stars of the cobbled Classics, in which he already shined as a Junior and U23 rider. Altough is always difficult to say what a youn cyclist will and can do over the years, one thing is certain: the Belgian rider of Trek Factory Racing has the talent and potential to make a name for himself in the future seasons, and not only in one-day races, but also in stage races, where his strong sprint can help him notch wins.

Next year I’ll ride for Trek

Cafe Roubaix, Alexandru Hovco, 20 August 2013

Belgium has some top talents coming from the U23 ranks, and one rider who caught everyone’s attention is Jasper Stuyven. Just 21 now, he showed his potential for the first time in 2009, winning the Juniors World Championships. One year later, Jasper got another important win at this age category, in Paris-Roubaix, a race that became his favourite. His qualities and strong results convinced Axel Merckx to offer him a contract at Bontrager, and the Belgian manager was fully rewarded for his trust. In the last two seasons, Jasper Stuyven was one of the best riders in the American squad, getting wins not just in one-day races, but also in stage races, as was the case with the Volta ao Alentejo....
