Nelle prime volate della stagione in terra spagnola è emerso prepotente un nuovo treno ad alta velocità, quello della Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert. La formazione belga ha costruito attorno ad Alexander Kristoff un drappello ben amalgamato, che sembra poter diventare uno dei nuovi punti di riferimento per gli arrivi a gruppo compatto.

Every winter since 2018 our man in Spain, Alastair Hamilton, has interviewed Andrea Pasqualon at the Intermarché, or Wanty–Gobert as it was then, training camp in Albir on the Costa Blanca. Due to Covid there was no interview in the winter of 2020/21… two years on and we catch up with Andrea.

January saw the Belgian Wanty-Gobert team, now with Circus as the top line sponsor, present their 2020 line-up in the Spanish Costa Blanca town of Albir. The presentation has become a regular fixture since 2014 as has having a chat with Italian rider Andrea Pasqualon.

Cette saison s'est déroulée de la meilleure des manières, j'ai réussi à gagner à 3 occasions et à conquérir de nombreux podiums dans des compétitions avec un niveau relevé.

Andrea Pasqualon sarà sicuramente uno degli uomini di punta dell'Area Zero Pro Team. Dopo tre stagioni alla Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox, con cui ha ottenuto la prima vittoria da professionista la scorsa stagione al Tour du Limousin, il ciclista di Bassano del Grappa infatti ha deciso di accettare l'offerta della nuova formazione Continental guidata da Andrea Tonti e Ivan De Paolis. Lo stesso Pasqualon ci ha confidato in un'intervista le sue sensazioni per questo 2014 e per questa nuova esperienza all'Area Zero Pro Team.

Questa volta abbiamo conversato con Andrea Pasqualon, giovane corridore veneto classe 1988. Il corridore di Bassano del Grappa si prepara a vivere la sua prima stagione fra i professionisti, magari partecipando a qualche grande corsa, come quella dei suoi sogni, la Milano - Sanremo.
