When we saw he’d recently won the Eddy Soens Memorial Race some 20 years after he’d first won it, we thought to ourselves; ‘maybe need to have a word with old Mister Matthew Bottrill, aka ‘The Flying Postman.

Matt Bottrill (drag2zero.com) kicked off the 2015 season in fine form in the 20 mile Kettering Hilly last weekend beating some quality testers in the process. Matt, who is developing his own coaching business, was keen to show that the speed on the bike he had in 2014 was still there.

We can’t keep up with that man Matt Bottrill – but then not many can - no sooner had the ink gone dry on this interview we did with him after he won the 25 champs than he’d won the 10 mile champs in the second fastest time ever (17:40) and then added the ‘blue riband’ - the 25 record with 45:43 to join Bonner, Engers, Boardman and Hutchinson as a TT ‘legend.’
