A young boy growing up in a small village in the Scottish Borders was lent some VCR tapes of the Tour de France. He was hooked. A seed was planted. One that would eventually carry Stuart Balfour to France itself to pursue his own racing dreams. Setting off to the continent after he left school, the Scot raced there for six years as the teenager Stuart became both a Francophile and a grown man

Ed Hood caught up with his Scottish countryman, Stuart Balfour after a strong 2019 season that saw him cut his teeth on events all over Europe - The Baby Giro, Tour de L’Avenir, Tour de Bretagne, Peace Race and the Worlds, they don't come much bigger than that in the Worlds of the Under 23 rider. A 18 ans, Stuart Balfour est l’un des espoirs du cyclisme du Royaume Uni et d’Ecosse son pays natal. Pur produit de l’académie junior HMT Cycling team:www.roadraceacademy.cc , il rejoint le team pro Dynamo Cover pour la saison 2016. Peut être un peu jeune pour certains, mais l’Ecossais correspond au profil que le manager Yann Dejan veut pour son équipe plus basé sur le développement et la formation des jeunes. Il y rejoint 2 autres espoirs comme Mark Downey et Nick Kergozou.
