Franco Marvulli is a bona fide European track pro hailing from Switzerland. As a 4-time world champion, 5-time Swiss national champion, and olympic silver medalist, we guess you could say that he’s pretty legit.

With just a few hours to go before the madison which saw Switzerland's double world scratch and madison champion and Olympic madison silver medallist, Franco Marvulli take victory in the Six Days of Grenoble, the big man from Zurich took time to talk about the current six day scene.

Pour la sixième fois de sa carrière, le Suisse Franco Marvulli a triomphé mardi soir au terme des Six Jours de Grenoble. Un nouveau succès de prestige pour ce Zurichois de 32 ans – il les fêtera jeudi prochain – sacré deux fois champion du monde du scratch en 2002 et 2003.

Franco Marvulli's six day stats become ever more impressive: 29 six day wins off 88 starts, a stretch of 45 six days with only two non finishes (one illness, one crash) and of the other 42, his lowest placings were three 4th places - all the rest were podiums.

They call it the ‘World Championship of Six Days’ – Munich. And the 2009 winners were – Bruno Risi and Franco Marvulli (Switzerland) from world madison champions Michael Morkov and Alex Rasmussen (Denmark).

Bruno Risi und Franco Marvulli starten morgen Abend als Favoriten zum 50. Zürcher Sechstagerennen. Für BLICK hat ihnen Kurt Betschart auf den Zahn gefühlt. Betschart war 15 Jahre lang Sixday-Partner von Risi. Zusammen haben sie 130 Sechstagerennen bestritten und nicht weniger als 37 Siege gefeiert.

Franco Marvulli war dabei, als der spanische Weltmeister Isaac Galvez sich Ende November 2006 bei einem Sturz auf der Winterbahn in Gent das Genick brach und starb.
