Thor Hushovd planned to retire after the world road race championships in Ponferrada, Spain, later this month. He showed strong form in the recent Arctic Race of Norway, taking second on stages two and four, and believed he was in with a chance of worlds selection. However injury scuppered those plans and meant that he would have no last chance to represent his country.

The first ever Tour of Dubai will have many great riders at the start, and one of these is Thor Hushovd, the 2010 world champion. Heading into his 3rd season with BMC, the Norwegian is determined to have a great season and repay the confidence showed by the team when he had difficulties for one and a half years.

La saison des Classiques débute ce samedi, en Belgique, avec le Het Nieuwsblad. Près de deux mois après l'ouverture de la saison en Australie, les choses sérieuses vont enfin commencer et les flandriens vont s'en donner à coeur joie. Aux côtés des Tom Boonen et Fabian Cancellara, il y a une équipe qui peut faire peur, la BMC.

The former world champion doesn’t hesitate when he says that the Hell of the North is his top goal for the upcoming spring classics campaign, but he insists he is “not obsessed” with the cobblestone classic.

The world champion is back in action today at the Tour of Oman, This is a delayed start for Thor Thor Hushovd who had planned to resume racing in Mallorca last week, but he told cyclingtime.com that he is much advanced in terms of training and form compared to the same period one year ago.

Frustré par la neutralisation de l'arrivée à Spa lundi, Thor Hushovd s'était promis de prendre sa revanche à Arenberg. Bien vu. L'Enfer des pavés, ce fut pour ses rivaux. L'étape, c'était pour lui. Le vert aussi. Et il n'est pas décidé à laisser filer le maillot si facilement.

Thor Hushovd was third today in St Louis, behind Cavendish and JJ Haedo of Saxo Bank. He might have had a better finish but a crash in the final kilometer took out his leadout man Heinrich Haussler.

Pour sa première saison dans le peloton, l'équipe Cervelo s'est rapidement imposée comme une formation redoutable. Sur le Tour, elle compte sur Carlos Sastre pour le général, mais aussi sur Thor Hushovd dans les sprints. Le Norvégien n'a peur de personne. Pas même de Mark Cavendish.

Le Norvégien Thor Hushovd n'en est plus à son coup d'essai sur les routes du Tour de France. A Saint-Brieuc, il a obtenu son sixième succès d'étape. L'ancien porteur du Maillot Jaune n'aura probablement pas ce privilège cette année mais il visera à défaut le Maillot Vert au classement par points.

Frustré depuis le départ du Tour, le Norvégien Thor Hushovd a signé son retour mercredi en enlevant la 4e étape au sprint, à Joigny. Un succès important pour Hushovd, qui avait connu un début de Tour laborieux, à l'image de sa première moitié de saison.

El noruego de Credit Agricole llevaba tres segundos puestos en esta Vuelta y había portado el maillot amarillo durante tres jornadas. Le faltaba ganar una etapa, pero la consiguió ayer al imponerse en la llegada de León.

L’homme en vert du Tour de France 2005 doit y renoncer, accablé par la malchance et ce fameux déclassement sur la quatrième étape. Une décision qu’il estime injuste et le pousse, non sans regret, à délaisser la course à la tunique du classement par points. Il vise désormais une victoire d’étape.

Thor Hushovd (Crédit Agricole) reste sur une saison de qualité. Vainqueur notamment sur le Tour d’Espagne, le Dauphiné Libéré et le Tour de Catalogne, il a terminé maillot vert sur le Tour de France et il passé près de la victoire à Milan Sanremo qu’il a terminé en 3e position. Il s’est aussi distingué notamment sur les routes de Gand-Wevelgem et Paris-Roubaix.
