‘Hungry for rest of the season’
Tyler Farrar lines up Sunday as defending champion at the Vattenfall Cyclassics in Germany under very different conditions that he did one year ago. His victory last year confirmed his breakout 2009 campaign, but his road back to Hamburg has been bumpier than he would have liked.

"relief, simply relief"
This July, Canadians from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland and Labrador were increasingly transfixed by Ryder Hesjedal's exploits at the Tour de France. His 7th place was the second-highest Canadian finish ever at the Tour, behind the legendary Steve Bauer's 4th place in 1988.

"whatever happens in the next four days, it's still been a great race"
Before the 2010 Tour de France, few people would have pegged Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin-Transitions) as a top-10 contender. But since the team's designated leader, Christian Vande Velde, was forced to abandon the Tour, the Victoria native has picked up the slack and then some.

"I was dreaming of victory!"
Garmin’s Monday was disastrous, but yesterday, whilst they didn’t win the stage, they won a lot of hearts and crucial TV time, thanks to an epic from their big Canadian ‘rouleur,’ Ryder Hesjedal. Tired or not, he still had time for a few words after his ride.

The Consolation Prize
In Tuesday's Stage 3 of the Tour, Ryder Hesjedal initiated a break 12km into the stage, and the select group of seven worked well together to stay away most of the day. Toward the end Hesjedal went it alone over several sections of cobblestones, finally being caught 5km from the finish.
